Press Finished products
What is a ‘press finished product’?
These are products that are printed on the web press and, without any break in the process, are finished via the ‘Scheffer Inline’ system to create a finished piece. There’s no need for any further folding, perforating, glueing or trimming, the end product is ready for packing and despatch right off the end of the press!
If the volumes are high enough, using this method of production not only opens up some creative possibilities, but can make huge savings in both time and money compared to conventional finishing ‘off-line’, and we all know how that can help schedules and budgets.
The possibilities are literally endless. Paul Wale our Web Unit Manager says ‘I’ve being working with web and inline finishing for over 20 years and I’m still finding new combinations and product configurations - it is an amazingly effective process!’
We realise that with so many ways to approach this you may welcome some help and guidance to get your ideas off the ground, in the knowledge that the format you create will actually be possible when it comes to production. So to that end we show below, just a few of the many processes and options that are open to you - remember these are just the tip of the iceberg.
We can not only run material through the web/inline right from 60 to 170gsm but to optimize the running speed of both the press and the inline system. We would recommend using materials between 90 and 130gsm if possible.
