Both Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) accreditations operate under a ‘chain of custody system’ which enables end product paper to be tracked back along the supply chain to the forest or origin.
Chain of Custody (COC) is the process by which the source of a timber product is verified. In order for products originating from certified sources to be eligible to carry the FSC Trademark, the timber has to be tracked from the forest through all steps of the production process until it reaches the end user. Only when this tracking has been independently verified, is the product then eligible to carry the FSC stamp of approval.
The FSC label enables clients to choose forested products with the confidence that they are not contributing to the destruction of the world’s forests. When buying from certified sources you are providing an incentive for responsible forest management across the globe.
All you need to do is ask us to source a suitable FSC/PEFC material and we will apply on your behalf through our Chain of Custody certificate for use of the logo.
FSC/PEFC papers are not always more expensive than other materials, therefore the opportunity exists to be environmentally friendly without increasing costs. You can also promote your own company commitment to the environment, through both your actions and the evidence of the logo on display.
